RFAC Meeting at Lake Wallenpaupack

FUDR. Thats: Friends of the upper Delaware. Incredible, passionate people who truly understand and care about preserving the freshwater ecosystem of the upper Delaware river. They hired us to capture the annual RFAC meeting (Regulated Flow Advisory Committee) Held at the Lake Wallenpaupack Environmental Learning Center in Hawley, PA. It was an educational, and enlightening experience about the challenges and struggles between the people and the committee members. Do you know where your drinking water comes from?  I didn’t realize it, but NYC, New York city’s water supply comes primarily from the Delaware river. When things become out of balance by the powers of man, this greatly affects the natural ecosystem and the economy that depends on it. We were thankful to have experienced the event and deepen our understanding of the world around us.

Vacation in the Catskills

We have some family in the town of Hancock, NY who own the lovely East Branch Outfitters bed and breakfast & fly fishing resort.

At the helm is Ben Rinker, seasoned veteran river guide and entomologist. He and his wife Cindy run the B&B and we like to bring the kids up to vacation during the summer months. neighboring Ben and Cindy is Ray Turner. Ray has been catching eels in a handmade eel weir on the Delaware river for close to 30 years. He has been featured in the Nat Geo (National Geographic) show Filthy Riches.

Ray is a true character and a pleasure to hang out with. He runs his business the “Delaware Delicacies Smoke House” from his home upriver of the town of Hancock. There, he smokes and sells the eels he traps along with many other “delicacies”. Definitely worth the visit if you’re in town!

Anyway, we always travel with our gear, and this summer we had a blast shooting around town, and in nature.
